What will it look like?

My guess is that McCain's vanity will get the best of him, and he'll start listening more to Hollywood, the New Yorker, Europe elites, and the upper west side than he will his own party faithful.

From my sense of his ego, I don't think he has it in him to act and maintain in the face of the same kind of relentless criticism that Bush has basically ignored. Which means he'll be manipulatable by the raving "popularity" crowd. .

Hardware Wal-Mart to Give HD DVD the Boot, Sides With Blu-ray

I enjoy seeing the angry little fans I have rate me down. I know for a fact that a couple of them have rate down alt accounts and purposefully go through and rate down my stuff regardless.Regularly I have watched +5 posts end up at -1 once my little fanboys get done using their alts. It really thrills me to think that they get so excited over everything I say just to go to that trouble. .

Weak banks, carmakers end European scrips rally

European stocks dipped in early trade on Friday, falling for the first time in five sessions as banking shares slipped on renewed worries over the global credit crunch.

Geopolitical concerns following the assassination of Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto also dampened the mood in equity markets around the world.

Europes benchmark index is up 1.4 percent on the year, on track to record its worst annual performance since 2002.

HSBC was down 0.9 percent, HBOS down one percent and Credit Suisse down 0.5 percent.

Banking shares have been hit in recent months by a squeeze in the global credit market, and investors fear that financial institutions have not yet unveiled the full impact of the debacle in the U.S. subprime mortgage market on their books.

'E911' Turns Cell Phones into Tracking Devices

Cell phones will be taking on a new role in 1998, beginning a slow transition to becoming user tracking devices. The outcome of this shift reassures some, but has others calling for restrictions on how cell-locating information can be used.

The impending first phase of the FCC's rules is aimed at enabling emergency services personnel to quickly get information on the location of a cell phone user in the event of a 911 call. By April, all cellular and personal communications services providers will have to transmit to 911 operators and other "public safety answering points" the telephone number and cell site location of any cell phone making a 911 call.

The aim of the law is to bring to cell phone users the same automatic-locating capability that now exists with wireline phones.

Koh chooses to remain in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, who leaves the post he has held for 18 years to contest a parliamentary seat this election, will do battle in Penang although he has been offered "safe seats" in other states.

Koh said although all four parliamentary seats allocated to Gerakan in Penang were tough seats, he would still contest here.

"I will not leave Penang. I may be going to the federal level but I will remain in Penang," he said, adding that he would announce next week which seat he would be contesting.

Koh, who is Gerakan acting president, said he had received offers to contest in Segambut in the Federal Territory and Simpang Renggam in Johor where Gerakan's Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong and Datuk Seri Kerk Choo Ting are the incumbent MPs.
