| Bucks woman wins $10M verdict in crash
Chelsea's lap belt rode up from her pelvis to her abdomen as the force of the crash caused a “submarining" effect that pulled her down into the seat, Hileman said. The belt tore into her abdomen, ripping into her intestines, fracturing her spinal cord and causing other internal injuries. Hileman and fellow attorney Jeff Drake researched auto liability and found an Arizona lawyer, Larry Coben, who is an expert on vehicle crashworthiness. Coben helped prove that the lap belt caused Chelsea's devastating internal injuries. “The thing about the rear seat belt is the engineers figure not many people sit in the middle. It's not used that much, so they didn't care that much about it," Hileman said. Since Sept. 1, 2007, all new cars sold in the United States must have a combination lap and shoulder belt in all back seat positions, including the middle seat, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Windows Vista has received a sour reputation in the year it has been on the market. Some users of complained about driver incompatibility and performance issues -- among other things -- compared to the venerable Windows XP operating system the came before it. Microsoft addressed a number of these issues with Service Pack 1, but many consumers and businesses are still sticking with Windows XP. Microsoft is looking to give customers more incentive to upgrade to Windows Vista by cutting the price on some versions of the operating system. Although upgrade versions account for less than 10% of Vista licenses, two upgrade editions will see price cuts. The range-topping Windows Vista Ultimate (full) will fall from $399 to $319. Windows Vista Ultimate (upgrade) drops to $219 from $259.

Slacker Guys and Striver Girls (81)
Commitments, however, are only one of many pre-requisites for a long-term relationship to prosper and grow. Comment by Felipe — November 16, 2007 @ 12:45PM I really enjoyed this article. I used to depend too much on my girlfriend, and I didn't see how it was hurting her. Now I work a lot harder to be supportive on all levels. Thanks for bringing the issue to the surface. Comment by E Taylor — November 16, 2007 @ 02:20PM i started out writing something scathing and mean, because my emotions were getting the better of me. i just want to say this; women who believe that they can change men DURING a relationship are wrong. he won't turn into the man you want him to be untill you throw his heart down the garbage disposal and start dating that straightlaced prick with a beamer.

The Fed was likely to ease again at its next meeting in March, they said. "If you're someone who spent the last six months saying this is Wall Street making a big deal out of nothing, you've got egg on your face this morning," said Robert Barbera, chief economist at ITG. .
Wal-Mart unleashes employees in blogs
Microsoft is one of Wal-Mart's biggest suppliers. But that did not stop the Wal-Mart employee in charge of buying computers from panning Microsoft's newest operating system, Vista. "My life has not changed dramatically" because of the new system, he wrote on his blog. "Well, for that matter, it hasn't changed at all." His public burst of candor was not isolated. On the same blog, a video game buyer for Wal-Mart slammed a "Star Wars" film as a "debacle," even though Wal-Mart still sells the movie. Known for its strict, by-the-books culture - accepting a cup of coffee from a supplier can be a firing offense - Wal-Mart is now encouraging employees who do the buying to speak frankly, even critically, about the products the chain carries. An unusual new Web site by Wal-Mart, which was quietly created during the holiday shopping season, has become a forum for unvarnished rants about gadgets, raves about new video games and advice on selecting environmentally sustainable food.
WSU's Tony Bennett could have tough choice ahead
He said flatly he wouldn't talk about it. You'd assume Bennett would listen. Indiana drips with history, from its five national titles to its candy-stripe warmup pants. There's a reason they made a movie called "Hoosiers." Just as there's history at Indiana, there's history with the Bennett family there. Kathi Bennett, Tony's older sister and the member of the family Dick Bennett has said might be the best at it, was head coach of the Hoosiers' women from 2000 to 2005 before resigning and getting out of the business. Indiana would offer Tony Bennett a bunch more money than the Cougars can; they're paying him $800,000 annually. Bloomington, at 70,000 population, would present a college town but not one as remote as Pullman. No more would he have to contend with the nettlesome travel issues in and out of WSU.
